what are the webcasts...?
What are the Webcasts...?

Webcasts for AEC Systems are a means of doing presentations without having to physically be in the same room. Essentially, you see the presenters screen and hear their voice (either by phone or voip) so it is the next best thing to being side by side.

  • You do not need to have the software (Revit, Civil 3D etc) installed.
  • The scheduled sessions below are for large groups -
    - E-Learning sessions are available for smaller groups on specific topics...

WEBCAST: Inside Autodesk® Revit® Architecture 2011 (11:55 am - 12:55 - noon)

WEBCAST - Building:
Inside Autodesk® Revit® Architecture 2011

inside_revit1:55 to 2:55pm New Zealand Time
11:55 to 12:55 Australia East Coast Time
9:55 to 10:55 Australia West Coast Time

Description:

This webinar is a follow-on to the webinar early May which we compared Autodesk® Revit® Architecture 2010 with 2011 and provided a summary overview of the many enhancements. Nearly 5 months since the release this webinar will provide a closer look with practical examples of these enhancements now valued amongst Revit 2011 users who wondered why did not make the move forward sooner!

If you have considered moving forward, but are still ‘hanging in’ with Revit 2010, then this webinar is worth while attending!

  • Several changes and new features were added to the Autodesk® Revit® Architecture 2011 User Interface
  • The new Properties Palette is “modeless,” so you have constant access to both view and element properties, without having to interrupt your design workflow
  • The new palette is dockable, resizable and supports multiple monitor configurations
  • The Quick Access Toolbar has been enhanced with a new dialog for customization. The dialog allows you to reorder your tools and add separators, for better organization and grouping of commands
  • The Keyboard Shortcuts dialog provides an easier way to assign keyboard shortcuts to all of your tools, including tools that were previously inaccessible for shortcuts.
  • Several new tools have been added to the right-click context menu, including Repeat last command, Repeat Commands recently used and Select All Instance Visible In View. Worksets and Design Options controls have been relocated to the Status Bar area
  • Elevation tags are now fully customizable and can be designed based on your company standards
  • Improvements have been made to text and leaders that include the ability to display a border around text notes, control the vertical alignment of leaders and create lists with bullets and numbered formatting
  • Conceptual massing enhancements including the return of the ability to edit the profile of a form and the geometry automatically updates
  • The sun path displays in the context of your project and includes on-screen controls for positioning the sun at any point within its range of movement
  • Improve your ability to work with projects containing linked files with the capability to apply view filters, tag elements and control visibility of worksets
  • Rendered view now support ‘background images’ to display images in the background of rendered views
  • Two new Visual Styles added including Realistic providing ‘live’ rendered materials and textures including decals providing a working view that looks almost like a rendering

and more…

These are just a few of the many enhancements to the Revit 2011 platform product – providing real time saves in our opinion that are worth while considering moving on from 2010. Can you really afford to wait using Revit 2011? Don’t miss the webcast – suggestions are as always, most welcome!
