what are the webcasts...?
What are the Webcasts...?

Webcasts for AEC Systems are a means of doing presentations without having to physically be in the same room. Essentially, you see the presenters screen and hear their voice (either by phone or voip) so it is the next best thing to being side by side.

  • You do not need to have the software (Revit, Civil 3D etc) installed.
  • The scheduled sessions below are for large groups -
    - E-Learning sessions are available for smaller groups on specific topics...

Event: 'WEBCAST: Attribute Information & Importing / Exporting GIS Data' Print
  Geospatial
Date: Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 12:00 - noon
Duration: 1 Hour

WEBCAST Map 3D:
Attribute Information & Importing / Exporting GIS Data

1:55 to 2:55pm New Zealand Time
11:55 to 12:55 Australia East Coast Time
9:55 to 10:55 Australia West Coast Time

Description:

linkThis webcast focuses on creating attribute data in Map 3D to allow more information to be stored in the AutoCAD DWG file. Traditionally, we have Layer Name as a very rough guide to what the geometry represents - with Attribute Data, we can hold information in a more sensible and categorised format.

We will also look at importing and exporting this information to various GIS packages (Mapinfo, ESRI etc).

This webcast is relevant to the following grounps:

  • Anyone who wants to enhance the value of the general AutoCAD data
  • Anyone who works with GIS information
  • Anyone who needs to produce GIS formats for clients.
  • (we will also look at some tips & tricks in importing contours and substituting the elevation with an attribute value..)

As always, suggestions are most welcome.
