Roundabout Reconstruction Using Corridor Models |
| Abstract: |
|
In this session, you'll learn how to build a Corridor to model the reconstruction required for adding a new lane to an existing roundabout. This involves rerouting an existing approach lane with new horizontal curves and blending it into the roundabout to construct a new exit lane with minimum disruption. We will achieve this with a combination of AutoCAD Civil 3D objects, carefully controlling the vertical design to adhere to design standards. |

Road designers familiar with Civil 3D objects |
| Key Topics Covered |
|
- Apply the "Fixed-Floating-Free" Civil 3D Alignment elements to practical scenarios
- Take advantage of the "Transparent Commands" to highlight regions of interest on Profile Views
- Establish maximum/minimum ranges to act as a guide for design profiles
- Use Rehab subassemblies to extend existing, and overlay existing, lane ways
- Combine all of the above into a Dynamic Corridor model for analysis |
